Frequently asked questions.

What conditions does Lokman have experience treating?

I believe in treating the body as a whole; the cause of pain is rarely localized to one body structure. I try not to limit my treatments by the medical diagnosis. I prefer to base my treatments off of my assessment of your mobility, strength and functional movement patterns in order to bring real functional change.

However, over my decade of clinical experience, I have extensive experience treating musculoskeletal issues (relating to bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, and every in between), injuries relating to sports/work/motor vehicle accidents, degenerative conditions, and post-surgical rehabilitation.

I have specialized training in treating vestibular dysfunction and dizziness, post-concussion rehabilitation and jaw pain/conditions.

If you’d like more information on how I can help with your particular health condition, feel free to contact me and we can schedule a free 10-minute phone/virtual consultation.

What can I expect during a physiotherapy session?

A physiotherapy assessment involves review of your medical history, relevant clinical notes and medical reports, and a hands-on physical assessment of your mobility, strength, and functional movement. Once we figure out the physical limitations and symptoms that are important to you, I provide hands-on physiotherapy treatments that may involve manual therapy, NeuroKinetic Therapy, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and therapeutic exercises. Treatments may also include the use of modalities, such as acupuncture, ultrasound, and shockwave therapy. At the end of the session, I may re-test some of those painful movements to see if we were able to bring about some immediate functional changes and symptom relief.

Expect movement and to be moved!

How do I pay for my treatment?

I currently accept e-transfer, in-person debit and credit card payments, and payments online via JaneApp (appointment scheduling website). An electronic invoice will be provided via email after your treatment session.

I currently am able to bill directly to extended health insurance. If you’d like for your health insurance to be billed directly, please bring relevant insurance information to your first appointment.

I am not able to bill OHIP. If you are looking for OHIP-covered physiotherapy services, please visit an OHIP-funded physiotherapy clinic.

Please contact me for more information regarding the cost of my physiotherapy services.

Do I need a referral from a doctor to receive physiotherapy?

No, you do not need a doctor referral to start physiotherapy assessment and treatments. You may require a doctor referral for extended health insurance coverage depending on the insurance company.
